We train our SRIS students in managing multilingual content. Our students learn how to use Phrase, a translation management software, which supports many file formats and integrated website translation, during their ICT lessons.
Free Phrase Academic Edition
We would like to thank Phrase for granting us free access to their platform through the Phrase Academic Edition. Phrase Solutions is a complete translation platform that includes translation memory, integrated machine and human translation, terminology management, and both online and desktop CAT tools. Phrase supports multiple users, machine pre-translation, translation memories and term bases to speed up translation work.
Data Management
Phrase supports 50+ file types and now you can create your own, too. Custom file types based on XML, HTML, or JSON can be automatically detected and imported into Phrase.
Machine Translation
Over half of all projects in Phrase use machine translation. Phrase supports multiple engines which can be added by API key. Some translation engines can simply be toggled on to immediately start leveraging MT.
Used in Multi-lingual Companies
Computer-assisted translation (CAT) is used in many multi-lingual companies to manage not just documents, but also multi-lingual websites or program translations. It allows you to manage user rights and workflows as well. If you are still using manual translation in your company and your staff just sends Word files around via email, we recommend you give Phrase a trial. It has definitely made your life much easier at SRIS and already made us way more efficient in managing our multi-lingual communication.
Thank you for your support, Phrase
We would like to thank Phrase for granting us free access to their platform through the Phrase Academic Edition.
The SRIS language department has been granted access to the Phrase Academic Edition, an academic program designed to get students in touch with state-of-the-art translation management software (CAT).
Bridging Software Skills and Content Creation
Our students learn how to use Phrase during their ICT lessons. In their language lessons, they learn how to create content, like essays and blog posts. They then apply their ICT knowledge to translate their own content into other languages.
